Sbrisolona cake from Mantua, 'homemade' process 12.3 oz

Our “Sbrisolona” cake is made according to an ancient recipe from the rural tradition of Mantua. Now as then, its simple ingredients (butter, flour, almonds, sugar and eggs) are blended by hand to create its characteristic rustic and granular texture. After having been carefully baked, “Sbrisolona” is ready to be enjoyed. Hard yet crumbly, it must not be sliced with a knife … but broken into pieces with the hands! Our advice is to serve it along with a Sicilian raisin wine or to dunk it into a glass of MALVASIA COLLI DI PARMA!
